It's GCSE results day for pupils across the constituency. Today students will receive eagerly awaited envelopes containing their hard earned grades – schools will be opening for the morning to allow students to collect their results.
Young pupils across the country will today find out if all their hard work has paid off, and if they have achieved the grades needed to secure a place at either a sixth form or college of their choice.
Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham said: "I want to say congratulations and well done to all the teachers and schools across Dagenham, Rainham, South Hornchurch and Elm Park for the hard work they put in throughout the year, ensuring that the students are getting all they can out of their early education – for many local young people these results are the first step down their future educational and career paths, and I want to wish them good luck with their results and all the best for the future."
News is coming in of exceptional results all across the constituency, with high A* - C pass rates going up in some schools by over 11 per cent. This is fantastic news for young people in the area, indicating that our local education system is working and the pupils are excelling. Many of whom will be moving forward into further education later in the year.
Jon added: "It is great to see such outstanding results across the local area just a week after the grade accomplishments of our A-level students. I wish all our GCSE pupils great success in whatever they decide to do - whether it be moving into further education or taking up one of the fantastic apprenticeships that are now on the rise in the local area."
