Time to Read Week 2020

From September this year The Book Trust sent out a ?Time to Read' pack to every reception age child who starts school across Dagenham and Rainham, and the rest of the country. This year they distributed over 740,000 ?Time to Read' packs across England reaching the families of children who started school in the most unprecedented circumstances this year.

Time to Read Week takes place between Monday 19th October ? Sunday 25th October and is a time to celebrate the importance of reading together. This year there are a whole range of activities to get involved in online, designed to encourage families from all communities to read together with their children.

Jon Cruddas MP, who also received a pack said: "this is an excellent initiative. Shared reading is an important part of creating an environment where children feel comfortable expressing themselves, and helps maintain good mental health and wellbeing. I'm in full support of Time to Read Week and hope that families across Dagenham and Rainham will set some time aside to read together and take part in some of the online events."
