Tesco have recently been in touch with Jon Cruddas MP regarding their current job vacancies. They are looking for experienced drivers who are ‘willing to roll up their sleeves and get things done'. The positions are on full-time permanent contracts and applicants are required to hold a C + E license with no restrictions. The job pays £30-£34k per annum with premiums paid for unsociable working hours and time and a half for Bank Holidays/overtime.
Tesco explained that they are struggling to find people to fill the roles being offered at the Dagenham Distribution Centre, based near New Road at Beam Reach. The jobs are being offered with a preference for local residents, it is with this in mind that they contacted Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham.
Jon commented: "When the depot originally opened it was my focus to try and ensure that the jobs on offer were for local people. Tesco are calling out for local residents to fill the jobs currently available; with good working conditions and a good wage I am urging people in the area to apply. It is important that we keep local jobs for local people, especially in a time when commuters are getting such a raw deal from the government in terms of travel cost.
"I will be distributing the adverts for these jobs at my advice surgeries and making them available on my website. I am fully behind anything to boost the local economy and tackle unemployment in our area. So if there are any professional HGV drivers in Dagenham and Rainham that are currently looking for work this is a perfect opportunity."
