MP Secures Beam Park Station Parliamentary Debate

The campaign calling for the government to reverse its decision and deliver Beam Park station is being brought to Parliament by Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham.

Jon has been making the case for the much needed station to be allowed to go ahead and has now secured a debate at Westminster Hall on Tuesday 11 January.

Dagenham Village Petition Against the CPZ

On Friday (10.09.21) residents of Dagenham Village met with Jon Cruddas MP on Church Street to accept a petition against the Controlled Parking Zone due to be introduced to the area imminently. Despite the majority of residents voting against the scheme, the council are planning to push through the CPZ for access purposes based on advice from the London Fire Brigade.

Beam Park Station Update

Following last week's revelations which highlighted the Government had pulled funding for a new station on the Beam Park development site, Jon Cruddas MP has now learned that the proposed new c2c station was fully funded by the Greater London Authority and developers. In addition to the construction, the GLA and London Mayor's office had also offered the Department of Transport £10million to protect the Government against the cost of operational deficit for the first 10 years.

MP urges halt to proposed scrap of BTEC qualifications

Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham is one of 118 MPs and peers that has written to the recently-appointed Secretary of State for Education Nadhim Zahawi urging him to make an "early reassessment" of the Department for Education's plan to remove funding for the vast majority of applied general qualifications such as BTECs.
