Today is World Mental Health Day 2017, and this year one of the main focusses will be mental health in the workplace. As with previous years the day seeks to raise awareness of what is now the leading cause of ill health and disability worldwide; poor mental health.

This year the focus of World Mental Health Day will be ‘Dignity’ as set out by the World Federation of Mental Health. Helping to raise awareness this October 10th of what we can do to ensure that people with mental health issues can live with dignity.

Friday 10th October (today) is World Mental Health Day, and with rising mental health issues nationally more and more charities are working together to raise awareness. This year Barking and Dagenham are holding a ‘Time for World Mental Health Day’ event at Barking Learning Centre. The event will be a chance for local people to find out about the services on offer for people with depression, anxiety and other mental health issues.
