In the recent Queen's Speech, the Government formally announced their plans to introduce mandatory Voter ID at the next election. This policy requires voters to present photo ID to vote at polling stations in future elections.

Labour have called on the Government to urgently rethink the policy, raising concerns that the policy will reverse decades of democratic progress and threaten to bar millions of people from exercising their democratic right to vote.

At the end of May Dagenham United Charity, Box Up Crime and EMH Hawks U8's football club were nominated to be part of the Asda Foundation's brand-new Green Token Giving online voting scheme. Customers may have seen the green token scheme in store, but to make voting easier following lockdown online voting is now possible.

Each year, the Asda Foundation invests over £1.4m to more than 4000 good causes through Green Token Giving. The cause with the most online votes will receive a £500 donation while second and third place each receive £200.

Chadwell Heath Community Centre needs your support!

Each year the local Sainsbury's branch at Chadwell Heath chooses a charity partner to support for 12 months. The partner is decided upon by the public and all you have to do is get down to the Sainsbury's in Chadwell Heath and fill out a nomination form.

The community centre offers many local services, acting as a children's centre, hosting activities for residents and still providing the area with its only library.
