The number of unemployed claimants in Dagenham and Rainham constituency in September 2012 was 3,452. This represents a rate of 7.8% of the economically active population aged 16 to 64, the 123rd highest of the 650 UK

The number of unemployed claimants in Dagenham and Rainham constituency in August 2012 was 3,379. This represents a rate of 7.6% of the economically active population aged 16 to 64, the 139th highest of the 650 UK

Reassurances about the future of engine production at the Ford factory in Dagenham are being sought by Unite, the largest union in the country.

The Ford plant in Dagenham currently makes 300,000 Puma engines for transit vehicles which will cease production in the near future.

The number of unemployed claimants in Dagenham and Rainham constituency in July 2012 was 3,460. This represents a rate of 7.8% of the economically active population aged 16 to 64, the 130th highest of the 650 UK constituencies. The number of claimants is 84 lower than in July 2011 and 10 lower than in June 2012.
