Today campaign group, Power for People, thanked local MP, Jon Cruddas, for supporting a new Bill in Parliament that would help rebuild local economies whilst increasing clean energy generation.

The proposed new law, known as the Local Electricity Bill, is supported by over 200 MPs. If made law, it would create a new ‘Right to Local Supply’ of energy that would empower communities to sell locally generated electricity directly to local households and businesses.

Every One Every Day is the very pinnacle of participatory innovation, this project will see our community change for the better, forever. The Participatory City Foundation with the support of the Big Lottery Fund and other organisations has outlined a five year transformative programme for Barking and Dagenham.

The revolutionary £6.4m new project called Every One Every Day, is a vision for a sustainable community with a network of 25,000 people, all collaborating together.

Last Sunday members of Jon Cruddas MP’s team visited Dagenham Farm, a thriving initiative supplying the local area with organic produce and equipping local residents with skills in cultivation and food preparation.

Dagenham Farm is part of Growing Communities, a community-led organisation that creates sustainable urban farms.  Growing Communities has been based in Hackney since 1996 and expanded with the opening of Dagenham Farm in 2012.
