Monday 27th of March to Sunday 2nd of April is the official Autism Awareness Week for the UK, with Sunday 2nd April officially marked as World Autism Awareness Day. Autism is a lifelong developmental disability that affects how people perceive the world and interact with others. Autistic people see, hear and feel the world differently to other people.

On Saturday 15th October Jon Cruddas MP sent his Havering team to Circle Housings’ public exhibition for the redevelopment of 90 New Road, Rainham. The exhibition was to promote proposals which will make up part of the Beam Park Masterplan, the plans include 700 – 750 new properties and will incorporate the new Beam Park C2C rail station.

Back in June the Barking and Dagenham Post reported on possible proposals surrounding the Civic Centre which resulted in a lot of feedback from local residents. There has been a lot of rumour and speculation about the future of the building and this month Jon Cruddas MP is launching a public consultation in response to this.

Patients and local residents are being invited to attend three 'listening events' hosted by Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust and the national consumer champion for health and social care, Healthwatch.

The listening events, which will take place in September and October across Barking, Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge, are being held so that local people can raise issues and put their questions to Trust staff.

On Friday 28th March Jon Cruddas, Member of Parliament for Dagenham and Rainham Incorporating South Hornchurch and Elm Park, took part in a public meeting at the Mardyke Community Centre to discuss the ongoing regeneration project at Orchard Village.

On Saturday 8th February Jon Cruddas, Member of Parliament for Dagenham and Rainham incorporating South Hornchurch and Elm Park, held a public meeting to discuss the Cost of Living with residents in Marks Gate.

The event was the first in a series of public consultations across Dagenham and Rainham designed for Jon to hear from local residents about their concerns regarding the cost and standard of living. In the past few months we have seen big rises in the cost of transport and energy which has pushed many hard working families to the brink.

A public meeting was held at Village Community hall with the Communication Workers Union (CWU), Local Councillors, representatives of the Post Office and Jon Cruddas MP to discuss the proposed privatisation of the Dagenham Heathway Crown Post Office.

Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham recently circulated a community focus survey centred on the local NHS. The survey called for people to support the campaign against closures at King George’s Hospital. The survey also asked if people thought more resources should be invested to sort out the increasing problems at Queen’s Hospital.
