Thousands of fantastic entries were submitted to Jon Cruddas MP’s Christmas Card Competition from local schoolchildren across the constituency this year. After much deliberation, Jon was able to choose the winners, and on Friday 5th December he invited them to his presentation event and awarded them their much deserved prizes.

The event was held in the Dagenham Civic Centre and saw an excellent turnout of young winners, parents and guardians, teachers and sponsors from the local business community.

Remploy presentation

Over the past few months Jon has been running an online forum for local residents to send their best wishes to the sacked Remploy workers. The amount of messages that were received as a result was astounding.

Following the online survey Jon collated the messages from the people of Dagenham and Rainham, and on Friday 22.03.2013 presented them in the form of a plaque to representatives of the Remploy factory.

Earlier on this year in June two local residents were recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list for their outstanding contributions to society.

Last night (22.11.2012) Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham, The Mayor of Barking and Dagenham, Anthony Ramsey and many of the local Councillors came together to thank and congratulate Rita and Fred for all the work they have done over the years.
