Jon Cruddas MP is calling for more petition signatures against proposals to build a mass waste incineration plant opposite Rainham. The local MP has been running a campaign against plans since September 2018 and he has already made several representations on behalf of residents, including a visit to the existing Cory facility in Belvedere last month.

Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham, has signed a cross-party letter to the Prime Minister asking her to undo the blocks the government has placed on onshore wind energy. This support was welcomed today by 10:10 Climate Action and Power for People, who are coordinating the letter.

During the recent Labour Party conference Jon Cruddas MP expressed his support for a Friends of the Earth campaign to help London schools save thousands of pounds by installing solar power.

Friends of the Earth estimates that schools could each save up to £8000 per year by going solar – more money to spend on libraries, playgrounds and trips. They would also help to tackle climate change by reducing carbon emissions, and provide an opportunity for children to learn about clean energy.
