Recently the Havering and Barking & Dagenham Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG) contacted Jon Cruddas about their launch of a public consultation in Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge on ‘making intermediate care better’. Intermediate care is the specialised care that is provided to people in their own homes to prevent them from needing to go or stay longer in hospitals. These services can also be provided in residential homes and community rehab units.

March is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, and to mark it, Sam Gelder spoke to Chris Colley, who has recently been given the all-clear after an eight-month battle with the disease.

Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham recently circulated a community focus survey centred on the local NHS. The survey called for people to support the campaign against closures at King George’s Hospital. The survey also asked if people thought more resources should be invested to sort out the increasing problems at Queen’s Hospital.

Recently Jon Cruddas MP was contacted by a local resident who brought this story to his attention regarding a local woman and her battle against cancer. Jon is in full support of the family and hopes that even in these hard times people will do all they can to help the them.

Havering NHS services are in line to gain £29million from the Government due to its ageing population.

The think HEART campaign is an initiative that has been launched to raise awareness of Congenital Heart Disorder. Many Sudden Infant Deaths are caused by undetected Congenital Heart Defects, which this campaign hopes to change by teaching people to recognise the signs.
