Over the past few weeks many residents have contacted Jon Cruddas MP raising their concerns about disruptions being caused by ‘London mains’ gas replacement works on Rainham Road North/South.

Jon Cruddas contacted Cadent – the company carrying out the works, to find out how long the disruptions would continue. Disruptions that residents have reported range from traffic congestion, with severe delays to journeys, noise pollution, and increased air pollution from the associated works.

Over the past two weeks Jon Cruddas’s community volunteers have been out in South Hornchurch, seeing what the residents have to say about the local area. It was brought to Jon’s attention by residents on Blacksmiths Lane, Gainsborough Road, Guysfield Drive, Grove Park Road and Avelon Road that the road surfaces are in a constantly deteriorating state of disrepair.

LBBD Council have launched a ‘Save our Streets’ campaign in order to address the growing issue of potholes and road maintenance in the borough. Local residents who are fed-up with deteriorating road conditions are being called upon to sign the petition and support the campaign.
