An appeal is being made on Thursday 17th December by Ingrebourne Valley Ltd to push through the earlier rejected and opposed plans to extend landfill and build a processing plant on the greenbelt at Ingrebourne Hill in Rainham and South Hornchurch. Jon Cruddas MP, on behalf of the local residents has submitted the below statement for consideration at the hearing.

Back in 2014 Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham & Rainham was contacted by local residents with their concerns about the purchase of land at Ingrebourne Hill from the council for the extension of the existing waste fill site. The decision has been met with ongoing resistance.

Being one of few untouched green spaces in the local area, both residents and local Councillors as well as Jon Cruddas MP raised the issue.

Unfortunately the initial decision was taken and passed by Havering council.

The recent purchase of land at Ingrebourne Hill from the council in November has lead to the plan of extending an existing waste fill site. Residents and politicians from the community where skeptical of the land changing hands to Ingrebourne Valley Ltd from the start due to it being one of few untouched green spaces in the local area. It seems worries have been confirmed as plans are set to increase the land-fill site so far as to link with Hornchurch Country Park.
