Following rumours that the opening of a new Beam Park c2c station between Rainham and Dagenham Dock had been pushed back due to funding issues, Jon Cruddas MP has now been informed that the promised delivery has been cancelled.

Long-awaited plans to redevelop Beam Park, the former Ford Assembly plant, and New Road, Rainham have been formally submitted this week to Barking and Dagenham and Havering Councils.

Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham commented:

Last night the Dover's Corner development proposals went before Havering Council's Planning Committee. The proposals are part of the Beam Park development masterplan which will eventually see Beam Reach transformed, delivering thousands of new homes. The first phase includes over 500 new properties on Dover's Corner – which some may know as the Somerfield Site.
