At the end of March Santander announced that they will be closing 111 of their high street branches across the UK. This announcement included the Dagenham Heathway branch. Santander are one of many banks that have announced closures over the past 12 months.

The Council and the Police have been dealing with antisocial behaviour complaints in the area around the shops and station on Dagenham Heathway. Following these complaints, the Council is consulting the public on a proposed Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) for this area.

For the past few months local residents of Dagenham have been voicing their opinions and concerns over the fate of the Dagenham Heathway Post Office. The Heathway Post Office is a bustling centre and is one of the very few in the borough still owned by the Post Office.
