Do you have an idea for a community project that will benefit local residents within the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham? If so, applications for grants of up to £10,000 are now open and the council would love to hear from you!

Following the success of the first round of the Neighbourhood Fund (NCIL) earlier this year in which Barking and Dagenham Council awarded £112,799 to 13 local community groups across the borough, the council are pleased to announce that the application window for a second round of funding is now open.

London City Airport has launched a new £75,000 Community Fund to support local charities and organisations that represent inclusive and diverse communities across East London.

Grants ranging from £300 to £3,000 are available for charities and not-for-profit organisations to enable significant and positive change for communities across East London Boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Bexley, Epping Forest District Council, Greenwich, Hackney, Havering, Newham, Lambeth, Lewisham, Redbridge, Southwark, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.

Jon Cruddas MP was recently contacted by the People’s Health Trust delivering the news that £18,595 in grant funding has been awarded to Young Stars Football First and their ‘Beam Park Walking Football’ project. The project engages with older people living in the Beam Park area of Dagenham and gets them involved in slow paced recreational exercise and social activities.
