Over the last few days Jon Cruddas MP has been liaising with residents who have suffered as a result of flooding in the Rainham area to try and ensure that support is in place for those that need it. Today Jon has written to the Chief Executive of Havering Council raising concerns about the state of drainage in the areas that suffered most.

This week Jon Cruddas MP was contacted by The Environment Agency regarding the measures they have taken in the current crisis to continue operating in accordance with government guidelines.

Chief Executive, Sir James Bevan explained: "Our key priorities are to protect the health, safety and well-being of our own staff, the public and the businesses and partners we work with; to prevent loss of life and serious harm to the environment; and to keep our critical operations running."

Local MP Jon Cruddas has hailed a recent crackdown on waste criminals in the Borough of Barking and Dagenham carried out by the area's Environment Agency officers.
