Over the last few months Jon Cruddas was made aware of Havering Councils plans to build 30,000 properties across south Havering including on the green belt and flood plains. This was a major concern for the residents. Jon launched a petition against the plans which has so far accumulated over 1000 signatures.

There has been a lot of activity in South Havering recently with important campaigns running successfully. Local MP Jon Cruddas has been contacted by many constituents in the past few weeks with regards to the planned closure of the local Lloyds TSB in Elm Park at the parade of shops by the station. A significant number of residents in Elm Park have petitioned against the closure of the branch; which is the only bank in the local parade and the surrounding area.
