MP’s second year on the Christmas card competition

Earlier on this year in June two local residents were recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list for their outstanding contributions to society.

Last night (22.11.2012) Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham, The Mayor of Barking and Dagenham, Anthony Ramsey and many of the local Councillors came together to thank and congratulate Rita and Fred for all the work they have done over the years.

 

Dagenham Park law students have launched a project to raise awareness of the importance of Magistrates in the UK legal system. The campaign also highlights the need for more volunteers within Dagenham and Rainham. Magistrates play an important role in the legal system at a local level, authorising actions such as arrests; detention; search and seizure of property.

Remembrance Sunday (11.11.2012) in Dagenham Village

Remembrance Sunday this year in Dagenham Village saw a fantastic turnout, with the Mayor of Barking and Dagenham, Anthony Ramsey in attendance alongside local MP Jon Cruddas. The local ward Councillors were also present amongst a host of veterans, members of the Royal British Legion, the Dagenham Girl Pipers and many local residents.

This speech regarding the recent decisions taken by Dagenham Ford, was delivered to the House of Commons today (06.11.2012) by Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham.

 

Students and staff at Barking’s new Technical Skills Academy welcomed shadow chancellor Ed Balls MP to its official opening on Thursday 18th October. Mr Balls praised the facility along with local MP for Dagenham and Rainham, Jon Cruddas. The new facilities provide vocational training and education for young people aged 16 to 19. The £14 million centre is a joint venture between the borough council and Barking & Dagenham College.
