This week the Chadwell Heath South Residents’ Association announced that Redbridge Council will be funding a project to install some very special clocks at Chadwell Heath Station.

The clocks will be in the style of the 1940s Magneta Time Company designs at Gants Hill, Bethnal Green, Redbridge and Wanstead London Underground Stations, to commemorate the forthcoming opening of the Elizabeth Line.

The full amount for £12,000 has been provided and Redbridge are now looking to extend their investment to cover neighbouring stations across Ilford South.

Crossrail have recently been in contact with Jon Cruddas MP regarding their local works. They have highlighted that over the coming months there will be substantial work undertaken at Chadwell Heath station. The new tracks are due to be laid just east of the station over the Christmas and New Year period. Jon Cruddas will be meeting with Crossrail’s Chief Executive in the coming weeks to discuss the impact of the works on local residents and the constituency.
