It’s that time of year again and I would like to take this opportunity to wish every family, community and neighbourhood in Dagenham, Rainham, South Hornchurch and Elm Park a very Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year. 

I know that for many in the constituency, 2013 was a year of hard times. With government cuts introduced in April, and the cost of living rising above wages my office has been working to make sure people don’t fall through the cracks, helping as many as we can.

Local services under threat

Jon Cruddas' monthly Barking and Dagenham Post column outlined the pressing issues that currently face the local area in terms of services.


Community Focus: RAGS

RAGS provide help and support for families whose lives are touched by Autism. We believe that every person with autism has potential to fulfil, and we enable this by supporting the entire family - parents, siblings and the individual with autism.

Community:

Beam County Primary school is well on its way to becoming an eco-school. Over the past year their garden project has really grounded its roots in the local community and in the everyday lives of the pupils.

Recently Jon Cruddas MP was contacted by a local resident who brought this story to his attention regarding a local woman and her battle against cancer. Jon is in full support of the family and hopes that even in these hard times people will do all they can to help the them.
