Westminster reception for Saint Francis Hospice

On Wednesday evening Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham attended a reception at Westminster. The reception was for the Community Nurses of Saint Francis Hospice.

Whybridge Junior School, on Ford Lane, is hosting 15 volunteers and more than 5,000 boxes of gifts for needy children as part of the Salvation Army’s Operation Christmas Child. This is the second year running that the Rainham based school has teamed up with the charity. 

 

Breadline Britain: Helping families eat this Christmas

Local lad Robert Collins who is employed at the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Council has been selected to participate in next years London Marathon on behalf of the charity "Help A Capital Child".

The think HEART campaign is an initiative that has been launched to raise awareness of Congenital Heart Disorder. Many Sudden Infant Deaths are caused by undetected Congenital Heart Defects, which this campaign hopes to change by teaching people to recognise the signs.

A charity for vulnerable adults has joined forces with MP Jon Cruddas to launch an attack on government plans to tax charitable donations.

Local resident Bob Armitage will be running the London Marathon this year to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
