Dagenham funeral director Jeremy West has been awarded an MBE at Buckingham Palace. The owner of West & Coe, which has operated in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham since 1903 was awarded the Member of the Order of the British Empire by HRH Duke Of Cambridge for his services to the funeral industry and to the local community.

Jeremy West also sponsors Dagenham and Redbridge Football Club and is a founder of Living the Dream Trust which is an independent charity established in 2007 to help support the boroughs young athletes. Jeremy also supports Jon Cruddas MP’s Christmas Card Competition every year. He is also a patron of local special-needs charity First Steps and the chairman of Hornchurch Cricket Club.

Jon Cruddas MP said “Jeremy is a great friend of our borough and can be counted on to support our community through thick and thin. I was overjoyed when I heard the news that Jeremy’s work within Barking and Dagenham would be recognised with an MBE. Jeremy has definitely earned it”.
