NATIONAL LOTTERY COMMUNITY FUND AWARDS HUGE SUM TO RAINHAM FOODBANK

Over the course of the end of 2022, the National Lottery donated funds to community projects up and down the country, including in Dagenham and Rainham. The National Lottery Community Fund provided almost 2,500 grants last year and one of their biggest funding grants was made available to the Rainham Foodbank.

The £490,241 grant to Rainham Foodbank as part of the ‘More than Food’ Post COVID Recovery Initiative will provide funds to support our constituencies low-income families, especially with support and socialising schemes, as well as counselling and volunteering opportunities.

This grant will be fundamental to constituents living in Rainham, South Hornchurch, Elm Park and the new Beam Park area who are living through the thick of the Cost-of-Living crisis. The funds released by the National Lottery should provide residents with more opportunities to access essentials like food and clothing but also offer a safe space to learn and develop.

Jon Cruddas MP: “as the Member of Parliament for Dagenham and Rainham, I am grateful for the National Lottery’s Community Fund and the work that they do to help provide for communities like Rainham. We are lucky that they have helped fund £537,841 worth of grants and funds across the whole constituency for our local communities to benefit from during challenging times”
