At the beginning of July Jon Cruddas MP was contacted by a local resident of Barking and Dagenham who runs a newly launched adults football club called FC Glacier. The idea behind the club was to offer a place for those that love the game but have not made it as professional footballers. There are many career paths within the sport that can still be achieved without being a pro player and the club aims to help people realise their dreams.
FC Glacier are seeking funding to provide:
- Football kits and attire
- Pitch Hire
- Minibus
- Insurance costs
- Training equipment
- First aid kits/training
- Referee hire
- Coach development/training
- County Affiliation and League Registration
The full details of the club and how to support them can be found on the project page here: https://www.spacehive.com/fcglacier#/idea
The club are very close to their target and only need a little support to get them over the line.
Jon Cruddas MP said: "this is a great idea and has the potential to provide more support for young adults in the area who find themselves at a loss in their spare time. It is a way of providing a sense of community for some and introducing young people to the camaraderie that goes hand in hand with team sports. I fully support Dylan and hope the team reaches its goal."
