Member of Parliament for Dagenham and Rainham, Incorporating South Hornchurch and Elm Park, Jon Cruddas has nominated Dagenham’s Florida Doci for the British Red Cross Humanitarian Citizens Award for her sterling voluntary work she undertakes in the community.
The British Red Cross Humanitarian Citizens Award celebrates the extraordinary things ordinary young people do that make a huge difference to people’s lives in the UK. Each Year the British Red Cross runs the Humanitarian Citizen Award. This award scheme is open to anyone aged 25 or under and celebrates the achievements of young people in one of four categories. The categories are; First Aid, Volunteering, Community Action and Fundraising. Former Eastbrook School student Florida Doci, 19 has been nominated for the award by local MP Jon Cruddas for the voluntary work she undertakes with the Barking and Dagenham Local Youth Forum as well volunteering at her local MPs office.
Jon Cruddas MP said “Florida is a great example of a young person giving back to the community having volunteered countless hours of her own time to make her community even better. Florida is a bright young person with a great future in front of her. It was my pleasure to nominate her for the Humanitarian Citizens Awards as she is a community hero”.
