Marks Gate Community Forum

Last year a number of residents in Marks Gate raised their concerns about the Padnall Lake development with Jon Cruddas MP. Since then, Jon has been liaising with Chadwell Heath councillors, residents and Be First to ensure that local voices are heard through the development stages and on future proposals for the Marks Gate area.

As a response to Jon and involvement from local councillors, Be First are now establishing a Marks Gate Community Forum. The Marks Gate Community Forum (MGCF) will be a group of residents’ keen to represent their community and collaborate on plans for the area.

Local people can get involved by completing the expression of interest form online. Applications to join the forum must be submitted by Sunday 16 January. Full details and how to apply can be found here: https://yourcall.befirst.london/marks-gate-community-forum

If residents are having trouble with the online format they can contact the MGCF team directly either by emailing marksgate@engagecf.co.uk or by telephoning 07542 016586.

Jon Cruddas MP said: “In early 2021 local people in Marks Gate were contacting my office raising their concerns about the new development at Padnall Lake. One of the recurring themes was an alleged lack of consultation and engagement.

I have always advocated that any large project should aim to bring the community with it, so I am pleased to see that after many meetings Be First have taken steps to properly involve local people in the development process moving forward.”

Residents can find out more and join the forum before the closing date of Sunday 16 January here: https://yourcall.befirst.london/marks-gate-community-forum
