Local MP Jon Cruddas takes up residents’ grievances
Last December Jon Cruddas attended an open meeting with residents in Orchard Village. During the meeting Jon listened to the grievances and concerns of those residents present, covering issues such as; crime, traffic management, children’s safety, roads, drains, community issues and the demolition of old flats and reconstruction of new housing. At the end of what was a very constructive discussion, Jon promised to chase up the issues with the relevant authorities.
Jon has since contacted the Old Ford Housing Association and Havering Council and pressed them to look into the matters as soon as possible. This request was followed up recently when Jon asked to meet with the Council in person to discuss the issues.
A meeting was then arranged for Jon to meet with Havering Council, Old Ford Housing Association/Circle and Willmott Dixon on Thursday 8th March. In what proved to be a very constructive meeting, the vast majority of the Orchard Village residents’ concerns were discussed. Jon was promised that all of the issues would be taken up and reported back.
Jon will be holding a residents meeting in the future to report back to his constituents on the progress made on their grievances.
