XLP Annual City Sleep Out 2020

Jon Cruddas MP is encouraging residents to support XLP's Annual City Sleep Out on 20th March 2020. You can find out more about the event here: https://www.xlp.org.uk/city-sleepout.html

The London based charity are aiming to raise £30,000 to support projects that keep young people in school and out of gangs. The event will also help raise awareness of the issues facing young people growing up in poverty.

XLP is a London based Youth Charity established in 1996 as a response to a stabbing in Peckham. 24 years later, the need for supportive work with London's most vulnerable is a great as ever. XLP works with over 4,500 young people each year in nine London Boroughs.

The charity seeks to create positive futures for young people growing up on inner-city estates, struggling daily with issues such as family breakdown, unemployment and educational failure, and living in areas that experience high levels of anti-social behaviour and gang violence. Every year XLP helps thousands of young people recognise their full potential. Their work helps to keep young people in school and out of gangs, supporting those affected by knife crime and building long term positive relationships.

XLP believes that the key to sustainable change is relationship. It is these relationships which can restore a young person's trust and encourage them to set positive goals and work hard to achieve them.
