Bex Wilson is a Deputy Head Teacher at an inner-city Primary School in Leeds. In 2017, whilst teaching an 11-year-old boy, she noticed he wasn’t his usual happy self, so she asked if he was feeling tired. His response and that moment, not that she knew it at the time, were about to change both her life and his. ‘Miss, I am always tired. I don’t have a bed.’
Next Monday (21.03.22) the Consumer Council for Water (CCW) are launching an awareness raising campaign called #YourWaterYourWay which aims to inform people of the extra free support available from water companies.
Earlier this month Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham was presented with the YMCA award where he is hereby recognised as a Parliamentary Patron of YMCA England and Wales.
This month, Jon Cruddas MP’s team had the pleasure of meeting with Dagenham Foodbank. Dagenham Foodbank is part of the Trussell Trust which is a charity that works to end the need for food banks in the UK. The Trussell Trust supports a network of over 1200 foodbank centres to provide emergency food and compassionate, practical support to people in crisis, while campaigning for the long-term change to the structural issues that lock people into poverty.
Sunday 10 October was World Mental Health Day 2021. Every year on October 10, The World Health Organisation, alongside the charity sector raise awareness of mental health issues. The theme announced for World Mental Health Day 2021 is ‘Mental Health in an Unequal World'.
