Sutton Trust Summer School Programme

Students in Dagenham and Rainham can now be given an extra chance to access leading universities and apprenticeships. Applications for the Sutton Trust Summer Schools are now open to young people in Dagenham and Rainham.

In this new apprenticeship Summer School, students will have the chance to explore degree-level apprenticeships as an alternative to university. During the three-day programme, participants will have the opportunity to meet current apprentices, network with leading employers and meet other young people who are interested in apprenticeships. It is open to students who attend and have always attended, state schools.

Over 41,000 young people from state schools across the UK have attended a Sutton Trust programme since 1997 with 92% of students in the last ten years going on to higher education. For more information visit this link: Sutton Trust

Jon Cruddas MP: "This is a fantastic opportunity for young people across Dagenham and Rainham. Very little in our lives over the past year has been normal, but as the vaccine rolls out, we can start to think about the future again. The Sutton Trust have a history of positive outcomes, supporting young people to make informed choices about study, higher education and degree-level apprenticeships. I hope that the summer school programme is something that constituents will consider in the coming months."
