Jon Cruddas MP commented: "during lockdown and throughout the current pandemic loneliness is becoming ever more prevalent in society, especially amongst the most vulnerable. Whilst technology has played a vital role in connecting people during the crisis, some are also susceptible to an information overload which can cause high levels of anxiety.

"Sometimes all you need is a friendly voice at the end of the phone, someone to talk you through what you are experiencing ? Talking Therapies is an excellent NHS service and I would encourage anyone struggling with mental ill health at the moment to complete a self-referral to get help."

To adapt to the current circumstances, Talking Therapies are engaging clients by delivering online support through group webinars and 1:1 therapy, alongside telephone sessions. The particular emphasis at this time is to help service users manage their worry, cope with uncertainty and build a stronger sense of resilience.
