MP Recognised as Parliamentary Patron of YMCA

Earlier this month Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham was presented with the YMCA award where he is hereby recognised as a Parliamentary Patron of YMCA England and Wales.

Jon Cruddas has always supported the YMCA locally, and has visited the Rush Green site many times over the years. Jon said: “It was a real surprise and honour to be recognised as a Parliamentary Patron of such an important and inspirational organisation. I am always amazed at the scope of projects being delivered by the YMCA in Rush Green. Their work with young people and families is invaluable, particularly at a time when local authority services are suffering cuts to funding.”

The YMCA is focused on providing accommodations for young people, believing that every family should have the support they need, everyone should enjoy benefits of good health and wellbeing as well as every young person being able to fulfil their potential and that every person should have someone they can trust.

Some of the things that the YMCA are doing is that they are working with 83,796 children and young people through informative talks, helped more than 132,000 people of all abilities and experiences to look after their health and wellbeing through healthy living activities, provided practical skills and hand-on learning to more than 28,456 young people, provided 5,751 young people with mental health counselling and had 26 youth ambassadors speak at international events about their charity.
