MP Calls for Safer Roads in Rainham

This week Jon Cruddas MP has been contacted by a number of Rainham residents living on Wennington Road, all raising their concerns about the increase in dangerous driving and speeding along the road.

Jon has contacted Havering Council on behalf of residents, citing instances where dirt bikes are often driven recklessly on the wrong side of the road weaving among the existing small speed bumps, and cars regularly breaking the 20mph speed limit already in place on the residential road.

Last year Jon was part of the successful campaign which saw Havering Council install additional traffic calming measures on Upminster Road South. With that in mind Jon is seeking the input of Wennington Road residents, and people from surrounding roads to find out what measures they would like to see introduced to tackle the problem.

Jon said: "the more residents that feed into my survey, the better chance I have of convincing Havering Council that this is a priority. With Brady and Rainham Village Primary Schools in the immediate area it is important that we do all we can to make the roads around Rainham safe for families and children traveling to and from school."
