The Habbit Factory is an inclusive arts organisation that was established in 2004, who work with children and young people in the London Boroughs of Barking and Dagenham and Havering. They are different to other performing arts companies in that they support inclusive arts introducing inclusive approaches to acting, singing, and dancing that co-creates new stories to be shared with audiences.
The company’s approach is based on the principles of inclusivity, which means that they welcome everyone, regardless of their background or way of being in the world. This approach allows them to welcome some of the most excluded and disadvantaged groups within our communities.
The Habbit Factory have four main programmes that support their mission:
- • Community Programme
- • Educational and Outreach Programme
- • Volunteer Programme
- • Artistic Programme
They support individuals ages 4 and above across 4 age categories:
Child – Infant - School years: Reception to Year 2.
Child – Junior - School years: Year 3 to Year 6.
Child – Senior - School years: Year 7 to Year 13.
Adult - Age 18 years and above.
Joining The Habbit Factory is completely fee-free, and they welcome new members. While there is no obligation, they kindly suggest considering a monthly donation of £15 to support their ongoing work. It is worth highlighting that approximately 60% of the company’s annual income comes from generous donations. They do not require any proof or validation regarding the amount you choose to contribute.
