Freedom Pass Renewal 2020

The Freedom Pass is one of the flagship concessionary travel schemes in the country. It allows free travel across London and free local bus journeys nationally to older or disabled people who are eligible for the scheme.

On 31st March approximately 642,000 older person Freedom Passes are due to expire. There are several ways to renew, and most people will receive a notification from London Councils who administer the scheme.

Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham said: "the Freedom Pass is a fantastic concession but in the past residents have encountered problems when it comes to renewing them. This time there has been a lot of guidance provided and I hope that the process will be a lot smoother."

2020 Renewal Programme

If a person has used their pass in the last two years and has not changed their address, they will receive a new pass automatically from February.

Those who have changed address in the last two years will receive a letter with details on how to renew their pass.

All persons with passes coming up for renewal will receive a letter from London Councils. If a person is required to renew, and it is not processed automatically please visit www.freedompass.org and follow the instructions in the letter on how to do so.
