At the start of this month (June 2021) Hackman Capital Partners sent a letter to all nearby residents in Dagenham East updating them on the progress of London's largest film studios destined for the old Sanofi Aventis site.
In 2020 HCP entered into an agreement with Barking and Dagenham Council to build London's largest film studios at Dagenham East. They have extensive experience in film and tv and are the studios behind critically acclaimed programmes such as The Sopranos.
This month HCP are submitting some minor changes to the planning application, which seek to reconfigure interior spaces, redesign the main entrance and slightly amend the roof line parapet. The hope is that final planning permission is granted in September, with building work beginning towards the end of the year.
HCP are engaged in discussion with Film LBBD, as well as the local schools, colleges and the University to create creative sector career opportunities for local people. The studios once completed are set to deliver 1,200 jobs.
