Dagenham Fire Station regeneration

As you may be aware there are works being held at Dagenham Fire Station, located on Rainham Road North, for the construction of a new and improved fire station. These works commenced on the 26th November 2014 and are anticipated to continue on until the end of 2015. The remodelling of the fire station, which is being led by Kier Construction, has already seen great progress as most of the demolition works have been finished.

Dagenham Fire Station is not the only station that is being rebuilt but a further seven station including: Dockhead, Leytonstone, Mitcham, Old Kent Road, Orpington, Plaistow, Purley and Shadwell. Differently, Mitcham will see their fire station rebuilt at a new site. This will enable Londoners to benefit from an increasingly efficient fire service with new buildings that can be maintained for 25 years. Essentially, this short-term inconvenience will result in years of an enhanced service that will be "kinder to the environment? more community focused and promote engagement."

The Fire Service are reassuring residents in Dagenham that our area is still covered and the temporary closure of the Dagenham Fire Station will not prevent your accessibility to emergency fire services. Since the closing of the fire station, Dagenham's 60 fire fighters have been moved to three different fire stations: Barking, Harold Hill and Romford. Furthermore, during this construction period, fire services will be provided from these three locations.
