Community Leadership Training for Young People in LBBD

On Saturday 25th January, the Faith & Belief Forum will be delivering a free one-day training to young leaders (aged 18-30) working and/or living in Barking and Dagenham.

The day will be a chance to explore the themes of identity, types of leadership and experiences of living in and/or working in the borough with other young leaders from different backgrounds. Attendees will then create a map of the skills, strengths and resources you and your community already have.

Throughout February and March, the forum will be hosting further evening sessions. Those who complete this one-day training will have the option to attend an evening panel discussion with local experts on the topic of Authentic Leadership, a public speaking workshop, and will gain the opportunity to present their ideas to local community and faith leaders.

Jon Cruddas MP has worked alongside the many different faith groups across Dagenham over the years and commends the work of the Faith & Belief Forum in bringing different communities together.

Jon commented: "this is a great opportunity for local young people to develop leadership skills and meet other likeminded young residents in Barking and Dagenham. The Faith & Belief Forum has played a pivotal role of bringing different communities together in recent years and I am encouraging anyone who doesn't know about their work to take some time and find out more."

All participants will receive a certificate on completion of the one-day training.
