Havering Solar Parks

Havering Council has put together a new proposal to pioneer a solar park scheme in the borough, wanting to become the first London Borough to produce energy in this way. The council have stated that the proposal will create clean, sustainable and renewable energy on a large scale and will add additional benefits to the area.

Public consultation is currently underway which means residents can email the council with their concerns or questions.

Jon Cruddas MP said: "I have sent in questions on behalf of my constituents, but I am urging local residents to have their say on the proposals as well. The plans to source energy from renewable resources is one that I welcome, but the setting up of the parks and switch over must be done in a socially responsible way that has little to no negative repercussions for local residents."

Public consultation will finish on the 31st of October. Residents of Rainham and Wennington, South Hornchurch and Elm Park can contribute to the consultation via the links below.
