Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham has backed the Embassy Cinema Restoration Project which is a proposal by the Chadwell Heath South Residents’ Association to acquire and restore the famous building into a multipurpose space so it can showcase Film, Theatre, Live Music and Dance.
Jon Cruddas said “This is a fantastic project which will give local people the opportunity to view great films in a classic and historic building in the heart of our community. It’s such an exciting time for creatives in the local area with this project and the new films studios set for Dagenham East.”
The project has recently been awarded a grant of £14,940 by the Power to Change Trust and the Department for Communities and Local Government, to fund a Feasibility Study for the project. It is hoped the project will be a great success and will be boosted by the opening of the Elizabeth Line which will provide better and faster journeys to Chadwell Heath, and increased footfall.
