Over the past few weeks many residents have contacted Jon Cruddas MP raising their concerns about disruptions being caused by ‘London mains' gas replacement works on Rainham Road North/South.
Jon Cruddas contacted Cadent – the company carrying out the works, to find out how long the disruptions would continue. Disruptions that residents have reported range from traffic congestion, with severe delays to journeys, noise pollution, and increased air pollution from the associated works.
Cadent have notified Jon Cruddas that they are expecting to finish the work by Friday 2nd of August 2019 and explained that to provide safe and reliable energy they need to retain the parking bay and bus stop suspensions on Rainham Road South until the works are completed.
Cadent have also provided assurances that there will be minimal impact on local businesses.
If there are more updates on this issue, Jon will report back to residents.
