Dagenham and Rainham Remembrance Day Services 2021

Dagenham and Rainham has a long and proud service history and because of this Remembrance Day has always been an important community event. Every year Jon Cruddas MP attends one of the services and sends representatives to lay wreaths at the others. This year wreaths will be presented from the MPs office at Dagenham Village, Rainham Village, Romford, The Mardyke Community Centre, Dovers Green ANZAC Memorial, and Elm Park.

This year Jon Cruddas is encouraging Dagenham residents to attend the village parade and has written to local households with details which can be found below.

Dagenham Remembrance Day Parade

Sunday 14 November

Parade will assemble on Rectory Road at 10.20am, where it will be led by the Dagenham Girl Pipers in a march to Dagenham Parish Church. A service will then be held in the church. Following the service, a reception will be held in The Cross Keys pub.

All are invited to line the streets as the community remembers and pays tribute to those who fought and died for our freedoms. This year also celebrates the centenary of the Royal British Legion, who have made an enormous contribution to support the Armed Services and service families over the years.

Jon Cruddas said:"My constituency if often praised for its community spirit and Remembrance Day is always a perfect example of people coming together. In Rainham local veterans and dignitaries lead a well-attended march, and the Dagenham Girl Pipers are leading the parade in Dagenham Village again this year. There are also events at Elm Park, Orchard Village and Becontree.

"As always residents are being invited to line the streets at the Dagenham and Rainham parades to ensure that our traditions are kept alive, and that those service men and women who laid down their lives for our freedoms are not forgotten. We Will Remember Them."
