Crossrail work to start in Chadwell Heath

Crossrail have recently been in contact with Jon Cruddas MP regarding their local works. They have highlighted that over the coming months there will be substantial work undertaken at Chadwell Heath station. The new tracks are due to be laid just east of the station over the Christmas and New Year period. Jon Cruddas will be meeting with Crossrail's Chief Executive in the coming weeks to discuss the impact of the works on local residents and the constituency.

From next year Crossrail will be taking over the running of services on the line, bringing many benefits to the station in Chadwell Heath, such as full staffing from the first to last train. In 2017 the line will also be the first to see the new, air conditioned, spacious, Crossrail rolling stock.

At least 100 local residents have been involved in the project so far, many of who were previously unemployed. Crossrail is another example of positive investment coming to the local area, bringing jobs and improving services.

Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham commented: "Crossrail have made a massive investment in the area, improving our local transport services with the goal of making life easier for commuters. As the local Member of Parliament I will be meeting with the Chief Executive of Crossrail on behalf of residents, to ensure that the work has a minimal negative impact on the immediate area."
