Last week Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham & Rainham visited one of the Bright Community Free Maths Centres located at Dagenham Heathway Library.
There are currently four such centres across the borough, offering free maths tuition to young children hoping to stimulate, encourage and enhance the student’s interest in Mathematics at the formative stage.
The success of the centres is down to the fantastic commitment of the co-ordinator Pastor Gbolahan Bright MBE – the vision to have free maths centres across the borough to help improve the numeracy rates in our youngest residents is fast becoming realised because of the initiative.
After visiting the centre Jon Cruddas MP commented: “I am extremely impressed by the sheer number of students that are benefiting from the centres – hundreds each week. It is great to see such a positive attitude to learning from our young people, inspired by the great work of Pastor Bright and his team of volunteers.”
