Local MP calls on Barking & Dagenham and Havering residents to donate towards final push for 2nd London Air Ambulance helicopter

Back in 2014 residents of Melville and Cowper Roads in Rainham Village contacted Jon Cruddas to raise the issue of parking in their area. Due to the roads close proximity to Rainham train station many commuters were taking advantage of the roads free parking facilities. In some cases residents reported that commuters were waiting for them to leave for work in the mornings, filling the space outside their houses and remaining there until late, leaving residents returning from work with nowhere to park.

The total number of unemployed claimants in Dagenham and Rainham constituency in August 2015 was 1,532. This represents a rate of 3.1% of the economically active population aged 16 to 64, the 197th highest of the 650 UK constituencies. (1st = highest claimant rate, 650th = lowest claimant rate.) The equivalent UK claimant rate was 2.5%.

This includes 1,490 people claiming Jobseeker's Allowance and 42 people who were claiming Universal Credit but were not in employment. Some of these Universal Credit claimants may no longer be seeking work.

It’s been almost a year since the Robert Jeyes Library was transformed into the Chadwell Heath Community Centre. Over the past 12 months the centre has become a hub for the local community and has held many fantastic events, including a visit this summer by her Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip.
