Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham, who is a supporter of the ?Time to Talk' campaign being led by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness said: "These issues are becoming more prevalent in our society, and we need to be doing all we can to raise awareness and break down the walls that isolate individuals suffering from mental health conditions. That is why World Mental Health Day is so important, it is a day to put issues that are often not spoken about on the national agenda."

"I commend the work being done locally, and am pleased to see so many innovative campaigns around issues of mental health. The Labour Party has also continued its commitment to a dedicated Member for Mental Health and Social Care on the Shadow Cabinet ? which as I understand was fought for by the Labour Campaign for Mental Health."
