C2C Service Consultation

Since March 2017 Jon Cruddas MP has been campaigning for better services at Rainham c2c station. He has contacted residents via post, online consultations and postcard consultations handed out by his Havering Action Team outside Rainham station. The response has been huge. Over 700 commuters contacted Jon expressing their concerns. Questions that were put to commuters focused on services during peak times, for example:

“Would you like to see more carriages during peak times e.g. morning and evening?”

Jon Cruddas MP and his Havering Coordinator, Fay Hough, met with representatives of c2c on Monday, March 13th to discuss the public consultation Jon has started in regards to issues raised by constituents across Dagenham and Rainham. We received affirmative information that aims to address the concerns many have with overcrowding, the station’s new timetables, and the need for more carriages at peak times.

The first set of 24 new carriages was delivered to C2C last weekend, and they will enter passenger service within the next few weeks. This will be the start of a four-phase plan to increase capacity, culminating in a new timetable in January that will address the top issues for passengers in each area: 

c2c Service Improvements in Dagenham & Rainham

This week c2c launched a public consultation regarding the proposed new services running through Rainham and Dagenham Dock to and from Fenchurch Street.

Back in August Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham contacted c2c regarding their Sunday service levels, requesting that they look at improving the line. Since then, Sunday services have improved by extending all the way into Fenchurch Street instead of just Barking, and the frequency of trains has been increased to every 30 minutes.

Crossrail work to start in Chadwell Heath

Crossrail have recently been in contact with Jon Cruddas MP regarding their local works. They have highlighted that over the coming months there will be substantial work undertaken at Chadwell Heath station. The new tracks are due to be laid just east of the station over the Christmas and New Year period. Jon Cruddas will be meeting with Crossrail’s Chief Executive in the coming weeks to discuss the impact of the works on local residents and the constituency.
