Remembrance Sunday 2016

Nov 16, 2016

Last weekend was Remembrance Sunday, and with a long service history across Dagenham and Rainham there were a number of remembrance events. This year Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham attended the Rainham service. This year was bigger than ever, with what looked like a thousand local residents; who alongside veterans, local cadets and scouts, and dignitaries – marched down Upminster Road South from the working men’s club to the War Memorial in Rainham Village.

Remembrance Day in Dagenham & Rainham

Nov 10, 2014

This weekend councils across the nation held Remembrance Day services in memory of all those who have given their lives in armed conflict. This year, November 11th marks 100 years since the start of World War I, one of the most destructive conflicts in modern history. This Armistice Day will provide an opportunity for us to reflect on the sacrifice all those who lost their lives in service to the nation. Dagenham and Rainham have a long and proud history of service in war.
